What is your professional area of specialty? Adult language, cognition and swallowing, Aphasia and stroke rehabilitation

What's your greatest accomplishment? I have 3 awesome kids – Brad (16), Claire (14), and Grace (7).  My husband, Billy, and I will be married 20 years in June 2024.  We have moved 10 times with the Air Force and have always managed to make any situation feel like “home”.

What is something you are great at (can be anything work related or not)? I am great at organizing drawers and closets.  I just don’t keep them that way!

What is your favorite food? I could live on ice cream, coffee, apples and peanut butter.

When you are not being an amazing SLP or admin what do you do for fun? I’m learning to sail!  I love to be on the water with my family- they are determined to reel in a big Ahi.

What's your favorite book? The Bible.  I finished the Bible in a Year podcast in 2021 and it continues to feed and inspire me.

What's your favorite color? All of the blues.

What's your favorite movie? Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Pretty In Pink

Who would play you in a movie about your life? The family poll says Kristen Bell, Maleficent, or Marge Simpson.  I’m not sure what to think about that.

What is your biggest pet peeve? When you can tell someone is only pretending to listen…

What is something you want us to know about you? I am super grateful.  I feel so lucky to live on this beautiful island and have an opportunity to help others. I have worked in such a wonderful variety of settings and cultures and know that therapy is a two-way street.  I continue to learn more and more from my students, clients, and patients than I did in my formal university training.  I’m so happy to be in Hawaii and at Speech Solutions.
